We just finished spending a week being tourists in Tokyo...

Day 28 - THE FINAL DAY

Day 28 - New York City, NY to New Haven, CT - THE FINAL DAY!

Highlights:
  • Woke up late, lazed around and then caught the Metro North up to New Haven
  • Headed to a Pelli party at Igor and Carlos's apartment...combined going away, birthday and engagement celebration...so good to see everyone!!
  • Headed back to our starting location, Anna's house on East Street...4 weeks and about 7,000 miles later...

Day 27 - Philly to NYC

Day 27 - Philadelphia, PA to New York City, NY


Highlights:

  • Headed to Hymie's with Emily and Adam's Mom for brunch

  • Got on the road once again headed back to NYC

  • Another engagement party!!! This one hosted by Anna's friends, Claudia and Stephan at Via Della Pace...great to see everyone

Day 26 - Engagement Party

Day 26 - Engagement Party in Philadelphia at Adam's House


Highlights:

  • Slept late...we needed it

  • Had a lazy morning around the house

  • Emily, Adam's sister came home from UVM and surprise us!!

  • Had family and friends over to the house for a small engagement party...so good to see everyone

  • Wound down the night exchanging old family stories in the living room and tracing the family tree all the way back to Romania, where Adam's Great Grandmother was born!!

Day 25 - Chicago to Philly

Day 25 - Chicago, IL to Philadelphia, PA


Highlights

  • Woke up to a wonderful breakfast (thank you Beth!) and hit the road early to beat the Chicago rush hour...a long day of driving ahead of us

  • Cruised through Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and entered Pennsylvania, hitting the home stretch around dinner time

  • Made it home to Lower Merion in about 12.5 hours...not a bad drive at all

  • Dinner with Adam's parents and then to bed early as Adam was completely exhausted

Day 24 - Iowa to Chicago

Day 24 - Des Moines, IA to Chicago, IL

Highlights:
  • Special stop at a Chik-fil-a in the Iowa City Mall for Adam to get one of his favorites
  • Two stops before arriving a the Wellman's in Chicago...
  • Wonderful celebration dinner at Francesca's Forno with the Duke crew (Dave Wellman, Beth Iams, Max Mishkin, Sally Weinstein, JB Cherry, Brad Baumgarten and Dave Brisske...Adam's cousin Lainey met us for dessert
  • Back to Dave and Beth's for some after-dinner drinks and a few games of Rock Band

Day 23 - Boulder to Iowa

Day 23 - Boulder, CO to Des Moines, IA

Highlights:
  • Spent the morning hours updating the blog then hit the road around noon
  • Headed out of Colorado, through Nebraska and into Iowa...not much going on during this part of the drive
  • Stayed the night at a Motel 6 again!! It was same exact room as in Salt Lake...kinda comforting and clean enough for Anna

Day 22 - Lazy Sunday

Day 22 - Lazy Sunday on Sugarloaf Mountain

Highlights:
  • A nice late wake-up followed by a bagel brunch on Easter Sunday :)
  • Great hike up Sugarloaf Mountain with Sam, Amy and Hap with amazing views of the Continental Divide and the city of Boulder
  • Lazy afternoon on the laptops with Milo & Otis on in the background
  • Mixed-cultural dinnner: Lamb w/ mint sauce and latkes / apple sauce and sour cream
  • Watched No Country For Old Men then passed out...a great weekend
